Formula One Racing has seen many start drivers so far. One such driver is Max Verstappen, who is recorded as one of the youngest drivers to ever drive formula one. He started young and had been projected as a future star, but due to his inevitable mistakes, he could not live up to the expectation.
But this year, Red Bull racing Star Max Verstappen has geared up himself and established at the front grid. He has been phenomenal while he’s been in his car. Christian Horner, the Team Principal The Red Bull, gave this statement while referring media about the two phenomenal wins in 2018. He also stated that the way Max kick-started the season was outstanding.
The Young Days Of Max Verstappen
When Max was young, he became a karting star. Within a year, in 2015, he was promoted to Formula One from Formula Three. Later, as he was just 17 and inexperienced, a new rule was set. The new rule, aka Verstappen Rule (unofficial name), stated that junior drivers would have to earn points to participate in Formula One.
After the new rule being set, Max soon proved his place in Red Bull’s Junior Team Toro Rosso. In 2016, he participated in four senior races and soon became the youngest Formula Winner to win Grand Prix for Red Bull at 18.
The Downtime Of Max – Youngest Formula One Racer
His wins and success later became sporadic. In 2017, he only won twice and had seen a terrible start in the year 2018. He made a mistake every weekend, and later his collision with another Red Bull teammate, Daniel Ricciardo, made both of them get eliminated from the race.
However, the worst still had to come. Later this incident, during practice in Monaco, his car crashed, and he could not appear for qualifying round.
All these failures attracted him series of concerning questions, bothering him to the core. He further said, ‘if he gets more such questions, someone might get a head butt.’
Things Have Started Coming Back To Where All Went Wrong
Later after the miserable downtime, Max Verstappen showed a lot of change in the Canadian Grand Prix organized in Montreal. Since that race, he has finished nothing below fifth. Meanwhile, he also visited his father, a formula one racer from the year 1994 to 2003.
On an official occasion, he stated a few words of his dad. According to his dad, even if he’s been going slow, he’s been going fast. He must challenge himself and try for better results.
This year, with fantastic results, he has made very few mistakes. Since his experience has been growing, his tendency to make errors has been decreasing. Seeing his continuity and growing experience at the age of 21, Horner feels that it’s his evolving time. He further said that he makes a great addition to any team, but he is in contract with Red Bull throughout 2020.
